Wolseley

Wolseley Motors Ltd. var en britisk bilproducent, som blev stiftet i 1901 med hjemsted i Birmingham. Selskabet blev stiftet af Vickers Armaments og Herbert Austin, og man lavede en serie biler, som dominerede det britiske lukusmarked i en årrække, og i flere år var Wolseley det største bilmærke i England. I 1927 blev Wolseley købt af William Morris personligt, senere blev mærket en del af Morris selskaberne, men allerede kort før 2. Verdenskrig, blev Wolseley til luksusudgaver af andre biler i Morris-koncernen. Derefter bliver Wolseley en del af BMC i 1952, British Leyland i 1967 og mærket lukkes officielt i 1975. Rettighederne til navnet Wolseley overgår til Rover Group i 1986, til BAe i 1988, igen til BMW i 1994, til MG Rover i 2000 og siden 2005 ejes navnet Wolseley af kinesiske NAC group.
